Pottery and Glazing Workshops
Have you ever wanted to try working with clay? If you’re feeling creative or want to try something different come and learn how to hand-build a unique clay pot, vessel or anything else you can imagine!
My Saturday workshops take place at The Pottery, 5 miles outside Henley-on-Thames, in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. The day begins at 10 am with coffee and cake/biscuits and a chance to meet the small group. Once settled we start by learning 3 basic techniques of working with clay; pinch, coil and slab making.
Once comfortable with these techniques you are free to play and create as you wish. There are lots of tools available to help you make as many pieces as your heart desires, as there is no limit to the amount of experimenting you can do!
I offer a home-cooked meal at lunchtime along with unlimited tea/coffee, cake/biscuits, throughout the day. With advance notice all dietary requirements, including vegan, can be catered for.
Your materials and aprons are provided on the day and class sizes are restricted to a maximum of 4 people. The workshop ends at 4 pm with the first firing of the clay included as part of the experience. The cost for the day is £155, including all your clay.
Once your items have been fired you will be contacted to come and collect your works of art! You can continue the experience with a further glazing day, allowing you to finalise your pieces with a wide range of coloured glazes.
