Body Image and Clay Workshops
As a qualified Art Psychotherapist I facilitate monthly hands-on BODY IMAGE WORKSHOPS for therapists. The workshops explore the relationship between women and body image. You will will use clay as a tool for reflection.
The body image workshops will provide you with a personal experience of working with clay. They will enable you to think about and use the techniques in your own work with clients or patients.
Workshops are aimed to help art therapists, students of art therapy, and clinicians working in the health professions.
They will give you the opportunity to experience the impact of working with clay as a medium, and to reflect on the impact it can have on personal body image.
The body image workshops take place at The Pottery, 5 miles outside of Henley-on-Thames, in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.
The day begins at 10 am with coffee, cake and introductions by the group. Once everyone has settled in we begin with an explanation of my PHD work on body image with clay and its impact on reflection.
We begin with an hour’s quiet session, where you will make an image of yourself. The following hour a group discussion takes place. You will all reflect and discuss the images you have made.
At the end of the session there will be time for questions and support.
The group is limited to a maximum of 6 people and runs from 10 am to 1 pm. All materials, aprons and clay are provided on the day and the cost of the workshops is £85.
